When Chem Chem Association began our conservation journey over a decade and a half ago, opportunities in the Tarangire-Manyara region were scarce. And, although education can be pivotal tool in breaking the cycle of poverty—families struggling to put food on the table are not going to prioritise sending their children to school. We knew we had to change this.

A decade-and-a-half in the making, our conservation success story has seen us transform a landscape on the brink into a thriving ecosystem. At its heart is the Chem Chem Association—a dedicated team united by a shared passion for protecting nature and uplifting the communities that help preserve it.

Our success story is making waves. We’re thrilled to announce that Chem Chem has been named the 'Coolest Conservation Rock Stars' in the first-ever Global Safaris Awards™ by global safari brand UNCHARTED®.

More than just a traditional sports tournament, the Chem Chem Soccer League Cup is a celebration of community spirit and a vital platform for promotion our conservation efforts within the Kwakuchinja Corridor, Tanzania.

Our passion for highlighting the vibrant cultures and traditions that make Tanzania so special was recognised at the 2024 ATTA for Action Awards in London when we were named this year's Heart for Heritage and Community Champion.

From conservation and advocation to our ongoing efforts to empower the communities that share the land with us, you can read about our projects and initiatives over the past year in our 2023 Annual Report.
